What is a walking trip? Why transportation data about walking tells an incomplete story
Over the last several decades, the transportation community has made great strides in collecting information about walking and pedestrian activities. With improvements in survey instruments and improvements in technology, we have more information to guide decisions and direct public investments. Yet, these data fail to capture some important aspects of pedestrian activity that are critical for designing walkable cities. This short talk will highlight some of these challenges and offer some suggestions for practice. Dr. Kelly Clifton
